It was a dream team in heavenly Thailand planning an incredible couple’s dream wedding. white+white had been looking forward to this all year and when the time arrived we were ready to create destination planning and styling magic.
We had an enviable itinerary planned for the week and took every opportunity to enrich ourselves in the cultural surrounds and absorb the relaxing zen that Thailand offers. We hopped from ocean view resorts to private villas and spent our spare time spamming our family and friend’s feeds with unbelievable images. But in among all that play there was some serious work to be done and no one does it quite like white+white.
Eighteen months ago a gorgeous Brisbane Bride and her beau came to us to help them find a truly spectacular Thai wedding venue. They envisioned something unique, something beautiful and something that, although based in Thailand, wasn’t necessarily a traditional Thai celebration.
No problem because we LOVE a challenge! Bec and Ben knew their ideas were non-traditional and therefore they required the expertise of a destination wedding planner and bespoke stylist to deliver their dream wedding in their dream location. Together with Isla & Smith we began the planning, designing and styling process that we truly love so much and unearthed glamorous hot spots, the prettiest places to say “I do” and the kind of worldly vendors an affair like this called for. Teaming up with Twidale and Ana Lui Photography meant an unforgettable event people would reminisce about for years and years to come.
Our bride and groom decided on the fabulous Sala Phuket Resort and Spa in the north of the island on untouched Mai Khao beach. This architecturally awarded and celebrated boutique hotel is minimalist with stunning private pool villas and lush verdant grounds.
Wanting to continue the clean and minimalist concept, we stripped back the brighter colours of a traditional Thai wedding and chose stunning white and green orchids for the ceremony with a pop of white petals down the aisle. Teamed with natural chairs and a traditional Thai signing setting, this was the perfect garden ceremony for our lovebirds.
Inspired by the message-in-a-bottle feel of Phuket’s spectacular beaches, we incorporated clear wine bottles and saturated the hotel in romantic candle light, lush green tablescapes complimented by crisp white linens and ultra-modern ghost chairs by our local friends, Luxury Events Phuket. Stationery design was created by Tin Mouse Marketing in Brisbane, with calligraphy by Floralovely, adding the perfect finishing touch to our crisp concept and tropical destination.
Pre-drinks were held by the ocean under purple marbled skies (which made for amazing photography). The guests enjoyed culinary delights until, in typical Thai style, we were blessed with the tropical rain. This definitely didn’t put a damper on things though. Traditional fire dancers kicked off the festivities for the night.
The Reception space was transformed from a breakfast bar by day to a stunning romantic feast of candlelight, hanging orchids, lanterns and overall gorgeousness by night.
Our guests partied the night the away listening to the beats of local DJ which was capped off by a private fireworks display. A night to remember!
And so it was with meticulous planning that our Thailand wedding was realised!
It was an honour to be able to create the kind of magic we did for this couple and can’t wait to do it again.
